The Amritsar Group of Colleges hosted its annual 'Cake-Mixing Ceremony- 2022' ahead of the Christmas season. The principals of Amritsar's numerous prominent schools marked their presence in the ceremony and generously participated in the event, having a lot of fun and a beautiful experience.
The ceremony marked its beginning from the 17th century in which the ceremony was introduced to mark the beginning of harvest season in some countries. One month prior to Christmas, all of the festive fruit cake's components—such as mixed peels, pears, and brown sugar—are marinated with wine and booze. The cake is then mixed, and on Christmas Day, it is served to friends, family, and other close relatives.
Different combinations of fruits, nuts, and spices were added to a large cauldron. Numerous gloved hands rolled up their sleeves and joined in a robust mixing of dry fruits and nuts for plum cakes with spirits while others poured endless bottles of spirits and syrups like golden syrup, molasses, honey, and vanilla essence into the mixture.
The student chefs of the Department of Hotel Management made 10-foot stands holding 15 different varieties of dry fruits and raisins decorated with the logo AGC-HMCT.
The ceremony was graced by Director Finance Madam Ragini Sharma Ji along with Dr. Rajneesh Arora- Managing Director, Deans and Heads of Various departments along with the faculty members of AGC.
