Student Research Lab
Vehicle development Lab (VDL)
VDL provides all the facilities to Mechanical Engineering students involved in design and development of automotive systems for all terrain vehicles in the Department. VDL is equipped with all essential Computing & Software facilities used in modeling, analysis, design and drafting purposes during Vehicle Design.
In VDL, students learn the fundamentals of:
• Vehicle Design & Simulation
• Vehicle power-train systems
• Vehicle Stability
• Vehicle Servicing

SAEINDIA/SAE International
SAEINDIA is a Premier Professional society that serves the Mobility Engineering Community engaged in the design, development and service of self propelled vehicles and systems that move in land, air and space. It is an affiliate society of SAE International which is Head quartered in USA with a glorious record of more than 100 years of service to the mobility community. SAEINDIA is working closely with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers of India (ACMA) and American Society of Engineers of Indian Origin (ASEI) for spreading knowledge and relevant information to a wider cross section of the Indian community. It is also a member of International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA). SAE India organizes international meetings and exhibitions each year that cover all aspects of technology related to design, manufacture, and total life cycle technology for the automotive, aerospace, off-highway, truck and bus, fuels and lubricants, and other related mobility industries. These events bring engineers and technical experts from around the world together to share information and network. SAE India organizes a variety of competitions every year for Mechanical Engineering Students across the country namely SUPRA SAE India Student Formula, Baja SAE India and EFFI Cycle.
AGC SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE CLUB
AGC SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE club was started in 2019 with 50 student members in mentorship of Er. Rajbir Singh, AP (ME), Faculty Advisor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Since then it has achieved more and more through the consistent hard work and dedication by its student members. The collegiate club currently has a total of 140 student members. The Collegiate Club students participate in various vehicle design, fabrication and testing events in the name of Team SPARKRACRS (a group 50+ students under different teams for various events like BAJA SAEINDIA Competition).
The purpose of AGC SAE Collegiate Club is to provide its members opportunities to gain broader insight into the Automotive Technologies by sponsoring meeting that will bring practicing engineers from Industries to the campus for Students Interaction, arranging field trips to research and engineering Institutions, sponsoring student projects of Automobile Interest, and participating in SAE India section activities. Designing provide students experience with computer aided designing which may be used after B.Tech in profession. The fabrication of the vehicles teaches student members teamwork, and how to use different tools and machines during the fabrication of various parts and most importantly how to implement a concept from idea to design to physical automobile product. It provides continuity to engineering education and provides exposure to industrial operating environment and working conditions.
Team SPARKRACERS is the official team of Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC), Amritsar. It operates under the aegis of AGC SAEINDIA Collegiate Club.
