It is a matter of great pride and responsibility to lead the Department of Applied Sciences, a space where young minds take their first decisive steps into the world of engineering and innovation. The department is envisioned as a catalyst that ignites curiosity, nurtures scientific temper, and instils a strong academic ethos among students at the very beginning of their professional journey. As the Head of the Department, my foremost aim is to create an academic environment that promotes clarity of fundamentals, intellectual discipline, and continuous learning. Applied Sciences, by its very nature, demands an approach that encourages questioning, logical reasoning, and the ability to connect concepts across domains. We strive to cultivate these attributes so that students develop the confidence to explore, experiment, and evolve as independent learners.
Beyond classroom instruction, I strongly believe in exposing students to real-world perspectives through expert interactions, alumni engagement, and meaningful academic and societal activities. Such exposure broadens their outlook, helps them understand professional expectations early, and inspires them to align their academic efforts with long-term goals. Equal emphasis is placed on communication skills, ethical awareness, and social responsibility, which are essential for shaping responsible professionals and thoughtful citizens.
My vision for the department is to foster a culture where academic excellence is complemented by empathy, adaptability, and integrity. I encourage faculty members to continuously innovate in teaching practices and mentor students with dedication, while motivating learners to actively participate in co-curricular, outreach, and self-development initiatives.
Together, we aspire to build a learning ecosystem that empowers students not merely to succeed in examinations, but to grow into confident, capable, and conscientious individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to society and the engineering profession.
