Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) proudly hosted the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), a prestigious national initiative aimed at promoting innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students, especially those pursuing engineering and technical education.

The Smart India Hackathon focuses on developing technology-driven solutions for real-life problems of social and national importance, as identified by various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. The event serves as a unique platform for students to apply their technical knowledge to practical challenges and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

During the hackathon, selected student teams worked continuously for 36 hours, collaboratively designing and developing complete digital solutions in the form of computer software or mobile applications. The event encouraged teamwork, innovation, and hands-on learning in a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating environment.

A major highlight of the hackathon was the interaction with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, who addressed and motivated the participants through a live video conference, inspiring young innovators to leverage technology for societal impact.

By hosting the Smart India Hackathon, AGC reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovation, experiential learning, and alignment with national initiatives, providing students with exposure to large-scale digital problem-solving and interdisciplinary collaboration.
