Kamran Alam

Kamran Alam, a student of B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) from Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology developed hardware and software for commercial produce customized “Digital Clock”. This digital clock is based on the principle of seven-segment and multiplexer. Kamran is rewarded with Rs. 2.5 lac from a very reputed company of Nepal, i.e Supreme Max Pvt. Ltd. He is also making some other products for Supreme Max. Pvt. Ltd.
Principal Dr.V.K.Banga and Chairman of AGC Sh. Amit Sharma congratulated Kamran on his success. Dr. V.K.Banga told many other students from different branches are also working on a number of projects and we expect much more such projects in the upcoming time. The college is also supporting him to register his company and doing handholding in his own start-up venture.

Vishal Sharma

Vishal Sharma received the PhD and B.Tech. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Thapar University (2016) and Amritsar Group of College, Amritsar, Punjab Technical University (2012), India, respectively. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) at the Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Before joining QUB, he worked as a Research Fellow in the ISTD Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore. He worked as a Research Assistant Professor in the MobiSec Lab, Department of Information Security Engineering, Soonchunhyang University, South Korea. He was also a joint Postdoctoral Researcher at Soongsil University and Soonchunhyang University, South Korea with research sponsored by ETRI-Korea, NRF-Korea, IITP-Korea, MSIT-Korea, and AFOSR-USA. Prior to this, he worked as a Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering Department at Thapar University, India. He has authored/co-authored over 100 publications in the domain of CPS-IoT Behaviour Modelling, UAV Communications and Security, Intelligent Communication Systems, and Blockchain Systems. He has won 4 best paper awards, including one for his PhD work from his Alma mater. He is also on the editorial board of highly rated journals, namely, IEEE Communications Magazine, IET Networks, IET CAAI- Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Drones, Future-Internet and Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing.
