"Being a top engineering college in Punjab, Amritsar Group of Colleges is responsible for developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. For this, aspirants are invited to share their insights on Entrepreneurship which is further followed by the seminars and workshops for the interested students by the faculty of the college. The college, being a top engineering college in Amritsar, is supporting various schemes at the country level and the state - level in order to support the youngsters. The Government of India has been implementing various schemes and programs aiming at nurturing entrepreneurship. The college is ventured with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell which aims at developing and strengthening the entrepreneurial qualities among its students. AGC strives for better tomorrow creating new growth opportunities for the budding engineers. Our mission is to create the leaders to facilitate entrepreneurship supporting the budding entrepreneurs and manifesting the energy of young innovative minds for the start-up and establishment through constant guidance & mentoring supported by various activities, programs and schemes.
Objectives of EDC cell of AGC
- To create an environment for self-employment and entrepreneurship development through formal and non-formal programs.
- To introduce the concept of entrepreneurship in curricula at diploma and degree levels.
- To develop management personnel at appropriate levels for the non-corporate and unorganized sectors like education, rural development, small-scale industry etc.
- To utilize the infrastructure facilities and technically trained manpower for the development of non-corporate and unorganized sectors.
- Motivate students to develop their own startups.
