Dr. Namarta Kad is working as Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Amritsar Group of Colleges, Amritsar. She obtained her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from I.K.G. Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala, in 2020. With over 20 years of rich experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, she has made significant contributions to engineering education and institutional development.
Her academic and research expertise spans across power systems operation and control, economic and emission dispatch, application of optimization techniques, electricity market restructuring, and power system deregulation. She has authored and co-authored several research papers published in SCI and Scopus-indexed international journals and reputed national and international conferences.
Dr. Kad actively contributes to the global research community as a reviewer for prestigious journals including Electric Power Components and Systems, Scientific Reports, Cluster Computing, Artificial Intelligence Review, and Applied Soft Computing published by IEEE and Springer. Her engagement as a reviewer reflects her strong research acumen and commitment to maintaining high scholarly standards. She has also been involved in patent filing, project-based learning, and mentoring students for research publications and innovation activities.
As Head of the Department, she plays a pivotal role in curriculum design, outcome-based education (OBE) implementation, accreditation activities, Board of Studies coordination, and academic quality assurance. She has been instrumental in strengthening industry–institute interaction, laboratory modernization, research culture, mentoring systems, and skill-based learning initiatives within the department.
Dr. Kad is deeply committed to student mentoring, faculty development, and research-driven teaching, and continues to guide undergraduate and postgraduate students toward academic excellence, innovation, and professional success.
